Render (RNDR) is a blockchain-based platform for decentralized GPU rendering and computing, providing scalable and cost-effective solutions for graphics rendering.
RenderToken (RNDR) operates as a decentralized GPU rendering network integrated with the Ethereum blockchain. Founded by Jules Urbach, CEO of OTOY Inc., RNDR aims to revolutionize the rendering industry by connecting artists and studios requiring GPU compute power with miners who lease their GPU capacities. The project was conceptualized in 2009 and officially launched in 2017, with its initial public token sale occurring in October of that year. Prior to the public sale, RNDR conducted a private sale from January 2018 to May 2018, during which 117,843,239 RNDR tokens were sold at a rate of 1 RNDR = $0.25 USD.
During the private sale phase, early adopters gained access to the RNDR Beta Testnet, where they collaborated with the RNDR team to develop and test the network. This period was crucial for refining the platform's capabilities and ensuring its readiness for public launch, which occurred on April 27th, 2020. Since its inception, RNDR has aimed to democratize access to rendering resources, empowering artists and creators globally while providing mining partners with a monetization opportunity for their GPU resources. The network leverages blockchain technology to facilitate secure and transparent transactions, enabling efficient peer-to-peer transactions between renderers and render providers. As RNDR continues to evolve, it remains committed to advancing the capabilities of decentralized rendering and fostering innovation within the digital content creation industry.
